This body of work may look like photographs, but they’re not. Inspired by Marcel Duchamp’s concept of “Found objects” and “It’s art if you say its art”.
The work is a result of simply walking and paying close attention and open to discoveries. The pieces shown below are a small examples of manipulated scanned objects.
I call the series “Say Da-Da”. The pieces are digitally printed on heavy paper and altered with oil paints, markers and finished with a tinted oil varnish. The process applied is a cross-over of computer technology and traditional applications. You might say the art is a result of Yin - Yang philosophy.
A limited edition of 5 each per piece. Sizes are 41” x 41” and 10” x 10”. There are a total of 12 images in the series.
Paintings on paper is a series of personal stories about life, romance, health, anxiety, or simply stories. However, there is always a kernel of truth in each story.
These oil paintings are 30” x 22” on heavy BFK paper and finally finished with an oil varnish. The stories/series continues. There always seems to be a new story percolating.
